I found the book quite interesting and informative and felt I learned a great deal that I did not previously know about this era. It gives an inside look at what slavery was like, as told my wo|About the Author|Patrick Minges worked for 17 years for Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. He currently teaches social studies to gifted high-school students at Davidson Early College in Lexington, N.C. He lives in Salisbury, N.C.

Far More Terrible for Women contains first-hand accounts of what life was like for women in slavery. These accounts are drawn from interviews conducted in the 1930s and stored in the Library of Congress.
