It's interesting to see a slightly different perspective on Auschwitz since most of the memoirs I've read of auschwitz were from Jewish prisoners. One part that really stuck out to me was when one of Kons colleagues was killed for standing up to the SS when the SS guard was mistreating a| ||"What is particularly strinking about Escaping Hell is that Piekarski not only observed himself and his fellow prisoners so actuely and honestly, he even attempted to understand his captors and their motivation."
